Networks around the world are undergoing a revolutionary transformation. As a global leading provider of communication network testing services, monitoring and assurance solutions, VIAVI is committed to helping the entire industry chain overcome the corresponding technical difficulties. "With the continued advancement of the first wave of 5G commercialization and the continued explosive growth of data demand for ultra-broadband interconnection based on cloud architecture, all network nodes are facing tremendous pressure of bandwidth being rapidly eroded. At the same time, network slicing is also a technological development trend." Sha Huijun said, "To this end, the entire industry ecosystem is actively investing resources to develop and verify the next generation of faster, more economical and reliable network interfaces and systems."

The bandwidth demand for each part of the network from edge to core is growing exponentially. Fiber optic communication is the preferred technology to support this, but it also brings new challenges to network installation, testing and diagnosis. As a global leading supplier of communication network testing solutions, VIAVI not only exhibited its leading solution product portfolio, but also released two of its latest testing products on site, including:

800G FLEX Module: The VIAVI 800G FLEX Module is a 400G QSFP-DD test module for the ONT-800 that accelerates the rollout of PAM-4-based products and flexible services up to 800G. The VIAVI 800G FLEX Module provides a variety of important test and measurement capabilities that manufacturers need to design network products and bring them to market. With its advanced test applications and comprehensive coverage of optical transport technologies (including 400GE PAM-4, PHY, PCS and Ethernet layers) and flexible services up to 800G, the 800G FLEX Module enables manufacturers and service providers to gain an advantage when implementing emerging technologies.

OSCA-710 Spectral Correlation Analyzer and Comprehensive Tester: The first optical spectrum analyzer that can perform in-band OSNR measurements in high-speed DWDM networks based on ROADM and using polarization multiplexing transmission formats without shutting down the optical channel. It can analyze G-OSNR (Gneralized OSNR) to capture nonlinear effects in coherent transmission and optimize transmission power; it provides ultra-high optical signal resolution, especially for testing Nyquist signals and super channels.

As an advanced solution provider for China Mobile, VIAVI supported China Mobile's 5G SPN multi-vendor interoperability joint testing with its industry-leading SPN testing solution during the conference, fully presenting to the industry the technical advantages of SPN slicing packet network, such as large bandwidth, low latency, hard isolation, and multiple controls, to help the ongoing 5G network deployment in key cities.

Mr. Chen Zhaoqin, Vice President of VIAVI Greater China, said: "In the face of the growing demand for bandwidth from applications such as 5G, IoT, edge computing, and cloud computing, it is imperative to continuously improve the performance of optical networks. VIAVI will work with partners in the industry chain through leading testing, verification, and assurance solutions to jointly safeguard the creation of future-oriented optical networks."

From basic optical connector and component testing to leading 100G/400G/800G transmission and next-generation protocol testing, VIAVI has designed optimized solutions for all stages of the production life cycle, from design and product confirmation to manufacturing test applications. 2019 is the first year of 5G commercialization. VIAVI will continue to expand its breadth and depth to provide strong test combination support for all stages of optical transmission system development, helping VIAVI's customers and the entire industry to bring products to market faster.
