In the past two days, Linode released a blog post and an email for its 18th anniversary, reviewing its past achievements and its outlook for the future. As a VPS host provider that has been operating for 18 years, Linode undoubtedly has some advantages. The business provides VPS hosts based on KVM architecture, which can be deleted at any time (billed by the hour). There are more than ten data centers around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, India, Canada, Germany, etc. All machines provide high inbound and outbound bandwidth, starting at only $5/month ($0.0075/hour). Official website: https://www.linode.com This month marks Linode's eighteenth year as a company. Much has changed since the day we started. We've seen amazing new technologies emerge, as well as huge growth and adoption of the Internet and of our company along with it. We've witnessed cloud computing become the de facto way business gets done. And, from the very earliest days, Linode has played at least some role in making it possible.Over the last year, people and businesses around the world have relied on the cloud and Linode to adapt to a world that looks nothing like the one they've known. Whether it was for hosting personal projects, keeping their business running, or staying connected to friends and family, the cloud made their lives a little easier. We accomplished much over the past year that makes me proud of the team serving you and our industry:
Those accomplishments are a direct result of your feedback — valuable input that helps us deliver new products and features and a better cloud experience. We're also excited for what we have coming up:
Achievements in the past year: 1. Commit $100,000 per year to help socially conscious nonprofits promote positive social change in the world; 2. Released universal custom images, making it easier for customers to create, store, and deploy one image on multiple computers; 3. Added two free security solutions in Cloud Firewall and Private VLAN to help all customers control the traffic to and/or between their Linodes; 4. Expanded support for developer tools, introducing an official Linode Terraform provider and Linode Ansible modules; 5. We’ve made Linode authentication easier with support for Google and GitHub. 6. The support team won five Stevie Awards, including the "People's Choice Award". In the future, we will do the following: 1. Expand payment options to support Google Pay; 2. Release of autoscaling control plane resources in Linode-Kubernetes Engine; 3. Provide support for Cloud Init and metadata services; 4. Added Bare Metal beta product; 5. Upgrade all block storage clusters from spinning drives to NVMe; 6. Incorporate account management tools designed for Linode partners and providers; 7. Upgrade the network to ensure the availability of all products in every data center around the world. |
