At the ITU-T SG13 plenary meeting held from March 1 to March 12, 2021, China Unicom, China Telecom and ZTE jointly led the project "Requirements and framework of mobile network sharing based on distributed ledger technology for IMT-2020 and beyond" (Chinese: Requirements and framework of mobile network sharing based on regional blockchain in IMT-2020 and evolved networks) and successfully established the project. This project has given full play to the role of the "integration project", deeply combining party building work with 5G co-construction and sharing standardization research work, and promoting development through party building. At the same time, through the efficient technical collaboration of the party members' responsibility areas, the smooth implementation of this project has been effectively guaranteed.

China Unicom and China Telecom took the lead in launching a new 5G network sharing model in the world, built the world's largest 5G shared network, and led the development of international shared network technology. As 5G network co-construction and sharing extends vertically to all levels, the refined and trusted management of multi-party resources has become an important issue. This project uses the advantages of blockchain technology to provide open, fair and reliable data recording, tamper-proof, and traceable traceability capabilities for co-construction and sharing networks, realize the trustworthiness of resources, data and other factors, and build a mutually beneficial, efficient, and secure multi-party cooperation and open win-win benign development mechanism. The successful establishment of this project means that 5G co-construction and sharing has entered a new stage of development.

As early as September 2020, China Unicom Research Institute has completed the design of a high-precision spectrum trusted sharing solution and the development of a test platform that supports RB-level spectrum resource statistics based on regional blockchain technology, opening up a new direction for research on the trustworthiness of 5G co-construction and sharing. This project is based on previous research and will promote the trustworthiness of co-construction and sharing networks to the international level and achieve new breakthroughs.

The project has also received strong support from partners such as the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and China Mobile. In the future, China Unicom will work with its partners to continue to deepen research on co-built and shared trusted technologies, build a fair and trusted network system that is data-oriented and network-oriented, promote high-quality development of co-built and shared networks, and provide a new example of co-built and shared networks for global operators.
