RAKsmart Los Angeles CU9929 line VPS simple test

Last month, the blog shared that RAKsmart Los Angeles added the AS9929 line option. This line can currently be selected in all products such as Los Angeles VPS, cloud servers, bare metal servers, and independent servers. We know that China Unicom CUVIP AS9929 line is benchmarked against China Telecom CN2. RAKsmart’s Los Angeles CU9929 three-network mandatory AS9929 backhaul has a good domestic access speed. Here is a simple test of the VPS host of this line for your reference.

Package Information

Since merchants have many products on the same line, VPS is taken as an example here. However, the disadvantage of VPS host is that the bandwidth is small. If you need a larger bandwidth of AS9929 line, you can choose cloud server, bare metal server or independent server.

Host Configuration

The VPS host package tested in this article is Lin2048, dual-core CPU, 2GB memory, 40GB hard disk, 5M network port, and the installed operating system is the pure version of CentOS7.9.

Basic Tests

The VPS host provided by RAKsmart is directly managed by the member center. The upper part shows the server information and can switch configuration options. The middle part integrates common functions, including power on and off, restart, VNC, reinstall system, etc. The lower part is the usage statistics chart.

IO/Bandwidth Test

First use the bench.sh one-click package, the IO fully meets the usage, and the bandwidth is consistent with the mark.

Latency Test

This time, we selected 453 nodes in China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) and North America for ping testing, and the average latency was good.

In general, the CU9929 line VPS host provided by RAKsmart has a good price and balanced configuration. The biggest shortcoming is probably the small bandwidth. However, considering the high price of line broadband and the fact that the merchant also has similar large-bandwidth products to choose from, it is still a good choice.
