Huawei CloudEngine 16800 becomes the "new engine" of Beijing Institute of Technology's National New Energy Vehicle Monitoring and Management Platform

On August 9, 2019, Huawei held the "Unleashing the Potential of Connections - Huawei Network Innovation Technology Summit 2019 (Beijing)". At the summit, Huawei announced that its CloudEngine 16800 data center switch has become the "new engine" of the national new energy vehicle monitoring and management platform, and further announced the establishment of a joint innovation laboratory with its organizer, Beijing Institute of Technology. In the future, the two parties will further increase their exploration and innovation in the cloud-network linkage of ultra-large-capacity data centers to serve the needs of connecting everything in the intelligent world.

Entering the era of digital transformation, massive data is growing explosively. According to authoritative forecasts, by 2021, the total number of devices and objects connected worldwide will reach 25 billion, and by 2025, 97% of large enterprises will adopt AI. Hu Kewen, President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, said: "Data mining will become the source of 50% of the value of enterprises, and the accompanying business models and technological innovations will directly create urgent innovation needs for the network. Huawei's IP network products and solutions combine cloud and AI technologies to meet the connection needs of big data and lead the network into the era of autonomous driving." It is understood that the new energy vehicle monitoring and management platform project is a national key project. As of August 8, 2019, the new energy vehicle national supervision platform has connected 2.5 million vehicles, with an average monthly connection of nearly 150,000 vehicles and a total mileage of 58.96 billion kilometers. In the past three years, a total of 7PB+ of data has been generated, and 20TB+ of data has been generated daily. At the same time, it is necessary to process big data calculations and mining analysis in real time, and provide data services for 1,000+ tenants. The monitoring platform of Beijing Institute of Technology cooperates with Huawei's data center network. Through the data center switch CloudEngine 16800 with built-in AI chip, SDN controller and intelligent network analyzer, the network achieves zero packet loss, low latency and high throughput, reducing the completion time of big data reading tasks by more than 50%, and business applications are launched in minutes. The business fault recovery time is reduced from hours to minutes.

Wang Zhenpo, professor at Beijing Institute of Technology and director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Electric Vehicles, said: "Our big data platform provides hosting services to many insurance companies, electric vehicle companies and other customers. We are faced with massive amounts of data collection, transmission, analysis and management every day. Traditional networks can no longer meet our needs. Huawei's network products and solutions for the AI ​​era have efficiently solved the problems that plagued us."

Zhang Hongding, deputy general manager of Huawei's Beijing Enterprise Business Department, said: "Huawei has not only jointly innovated with Beijing Institute of Technology to meet the ultra-large data carrying needs in the AI ​​era, but also served customers across the industry, including Beijing Electric Power, Beijing Energy Group, Beijing Television, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Airport, Beijing Railway Bureau, and Dongcheng District Education Committee. Fully controllable hardware and fully intelligent software are the two core capabilities of Huawei's IP network. In the future, Huawei is confident that it will better assist the digital construction of the capital."

Huawei has more than 20 years of professional experience in the field of IP networks, with a total of 7,661 patents granted by the end of 2018. By building a sustainable industrial ecosystem, it is promoting the development and growth of the global IP network industry. The four major Huawei IP network engines, CloudEngine, NetEngine, AirEngine, and HiSecEngine, unveiled at the summit fully demonstrated the hardware strength and full controllability of Huawei's IP network.
