Are 5G signals still classified into different levels? Now it depends on how the operators deal with it

5G has been officially put into commercial use. Recently, I believe that many friends have received promotional calls to experience 5G packages. When everyone laments that 5G packages are too expensive, should we also think about whether 5G is as fast as imagined?

As for the 4G network currently in use, it is often found that the signal is not full and the opening speed is quite slow, so that users have reported that the 4G network speed has decreased. Is it paving the way for 5G? Obviously, 5G signal will definitely affect your network speed. In order to let users know their 5G signal more clearly, Android 11 has put some thought into the design of the signal icon.

Specifically, the Android 11 native system will have the following five 4G and 5G signal identifiers:

  • -LTE: Standard 4G
  • -LTE+: 4G network with added carrier aggregation
  • -5Ge: LTE enhanced network
  • -5G: New air interface, Sub 6GHz frequency band
  • -5G+: New air interface, millimeter wave frequency band

Among them, five different signals represent different upper limits of network speed, from low to high, and so on. However, because there are few people using native Android 11 ROM in China, coupled with the magic modification of domestic systems, I am afraid that such normative suggestions will not be followed. Moreover, the 5G networks currently deployed by the three major operators are all based on Sub 6GHz bearer. You may only see the word 5G and cannot find anything else. It's a bit regrettable to think about it.

Even so, when 5G is hotly discussed, I believe everyone's expectation is that 5G package charges will be reduced, 5G mobile phones will not be so expensive, and the speed of 5G can be truly realized. As for the actual speed that can be felt, it may depend on the decision of operators when 5G is widely used.
