Foreign media said that the number of 5G base stations in Shenzhen has exceeded that of Germany by 50 times

According to foreign media, Germany's Handelsblatt recently published an article pointing out that China's Shenzhen has built 46,500 5G network base stations, while in Germany, there are only 850 mature 5G base stations in total. In other words, the number of 5G base stations in Shenzhen is 50 times that of Germany. This number even exceeds the number of 5G base stations in the whole of Europe.

The article stated that German network operators Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone and Telefonica also claimed to have established 5G networks and covered millions of Germans. But in the end, customers will only see the 5G logo on their smartphones, and the actual network speed is almost the same as 4G.

According to GSA statistics, as of January 2021, a total of 140 operators in 59 countries and regions around the world have officially launched 5G commercial services, and 412 operators are conducting 5G experimental verification or planning deployment. According to previous news from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, my country has built more than 480,000 5G base stations, and the number of 5G online terminal connections has exceeded 100 million. At present, the scale of 5G base stations jointly built and shared by China Telecom and China Unicom has reached 380,000. At present, Shenzhen has the highest density of 5G base stations in China, and is the first city in the country to have full coverage of 5G independent networking.
