China Mobile completes R16 version 2.6G+700M SUL uplink enhancement test

Recently, China Mobile and MediaTek completed the 2.6G+700M SUL uplink enhancement solution test in the laboratory, and the measured uplink peak throughput rate exceeded 390Mbps, and the uplink edge throughput rate increased by 427%. The completion of this test once again strongly verified the superiority of the SUL uplink enhancement solution, further promoted the development of the uplink enhancement industry, and enabled more consumers and industry users to enjoy a more excellent uplink experience.

The 2.6G+700M SUL is the industry's first R16 version uplink enhancement solution test based on the collaboration of low-frequency bands and mid-frequency bands. It is based on the Dimensity 5G mobile chip terminal equipped with the MediaTek M80 5G modem. On the basis of the original 2.6G uplink capability, it adds the advantage of 700M spectrum deep coverage, allowing uplink data to be flexibly switched between the 2.6GHz and 700M frequency bands, realizing full-time slot scheduling for uplink, that is, uplink data can be sent in each time slot, effectively improving the uplink throughput and improving the user uplink experience.

As personal live broadcast, video upload and other services show a high-definition and mobile development trend, and the demand for remote control, video surveillance and machine vision in the 5G industry digitalization is increasing, higher and higher requirements are put forward for uplink. Based on this, China Mobile continues to make efforts in the direction of ubiquitous uplink. This 2.6G+700M SUL uplink solution improves uplink capacity and shortens network latency through the coordinated use of spectrum, complementarity between frequency bands, and aggregation of time and frequency domains, which will effectively improve consumer experience and help the industry's digital transformation.

At present, the 2.6G+700M SUL uplink enhancement solution has been jointly promoted by China Mobile and industry partners, and has end-to-end support for wireless, chips and terminals, and is accelerating maturity. The success of this test by China Mobile and MediaTek has laid a solid foundation for the large-scale commercial use of this innovative solution, which will ultimately provide differentiated high-quality services to end customers in the fields of mobile broadband and industry applications.
