F5 Launches NGINX for Microsoft Azure, Delivering Secure, High-Performance Applications to the Azure Ecosystem

F5 recently announced the launch of F5 NGINX for Microsoft Azure, an Azure native service developed in collaboration with Microsoft that enables users to deliver modern applications on Azure with just a few clicks. With NGINX for Azure, developers can enhance and migrate local applications to Azure and deploy new, cloud-native services using NGINX, the load balancing solution they are familiar with and trust.

According to the 2022 Application Strategy Status Report released by F5, the COVID-19 epidemic has accelerated cloud migration, with three-quarters of organizations deploying applications in public cloud environments. As cloud applications increase, more than 25% of organizations are also hosting application security and delivery services in the cloud. Developers, cloud architects, system architects, and other practitioners who want to run applications on Azure need to easily migrate to the cloud, quickly and continuously provide large-scale secure digital services, and ensure consistency in application performance between local and cloud environments.

NGINX for Azure successfully meets the above requirements and can provide the following support for enterprises:

• Enhance and seamlessly migrate applications from on-premises to the cloud using existing NGINX configurations

• Use advanced traffic management capabilities to provide secure and reliable applications and services

• Shorten the learning curve and simplify cloud adoption with built-in deep integrations: Azure Monitor for application insights and visibility, Azure Key Vault for SSL/TLS certificate management

By using the same load balancing solution on-premises and in Azure, enterprises can maintain consistency in performance and security, thereby delivering a superior digital experience to their customers.

“NGINX provides a suite of advanced connectivity, traffic management, and security solutions for the world’s most trafficked websites, all of which bring additional value to the Microsoft Azure ecosystem,” said Eric Braun, vice president of products at F5 NGINX. “The combination of Microsoft’s trusted cloud and NGINX’s trusted SaaS services enables developers and DevOps teams to optimize the performance, reliability, and security of their distributed applications and services across the globe.”

“Development teams are constantly pushing the envelope in their pursuit of innovation. With a fully configured, secure cloud-hosted environment that allows them to get any project up and running in minutes, teams can achieve their business goals faster,” said Julia Liuson, president of Microsoft Developers. “By working with F5, we are delivering NGINX networking capabilities natively integrated with Microsoft Azure, enabling application developers, IT operators, and service operations teams to deliver higher performing, more reliable, and more secure applications, making it faster and easier to respond to customers.”

NGINX for Azure is currently in public preview in the Azure Marketplace.
