The world's first quantum call! The West: The future belongs to China, but technology should be shared

Recently, with the rapid development of China's quantum communication technology, Bai Chunli, president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the president of the Austrian Academy of Sciences used quantum communication technology to conduct an encrypted video call for half an hour. This is the world's first intercontinental quantum secure communication video call, and it is an important step for China's quantum communication technology to move towards large-scale application.

In response to this, US Newsweek commented: "Whoever controls the information controls the world. According to this logic, it is clear that the future belongs to Beijing"!

As we all know, the Internet has now penetrated into every aspect of human life and development, becoming the fifth dimension after land, sea, air and space, and the "nervous system" on which countries around the world rely for survival and development. It can be said that without the Internet, the quality of human life and national development will suffer a devastating blow.

Therefore, American futurist Alvin Toffler once predicted that whoever masters information and controls the Internet will own the entire world.

In the past, because the Internet originated in the United States, it monopolized the right to distribute network resources and dominated the key links in the network industry chain, making the Internet an important part of the United States' global hegemony.

Today, with the rapid development of China's quantum communication technology, the United States' decades-long monopoly leadership in the field of Internet will inevitably fall from the altar. After all, the almost unbreakable confidentiality of quantum communication, as well as its large communication capacity and fast transmission speed, will effectively promote changes in the world's e-commerce and big data fields.

According to China's plan, more quantum satellites will be launched in the future, and intercontinental quantum key distribution between Asia and Europe will be realized by 2020. By then, the intercontinental quantum communication network connecting Asia and Europe will also be built. By around 2030, a global wide-area quantum communication network will be built.

Some Western cybersecurity experts have stated that operating a quantum communications satellite is a project on the same scale as the manned spacecraft landing on the moon and the Manhattan atomic bomb project!

Of course, the United States cannot sit idly by. On the one hand, it is investing heavily in the quantum field, hoping to quickly catch up with China; on the other hand, it is also putting pressure on China in public opinion. The American media openly stated that this technology belongs to all mankind and hopes to strengthen international cooperation and promote this advanced technology to the world as soon as possible to benefit mankind!
