F5 Networks (NASDAQ: FFIV) today announced that it has been positioned as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Web Application Firewalls, Q2 2018 report, published on June 25, 2018. The Forrester Research report, written by analyst Amy DeMartine, recognized F5's strong products, mature product strategy and huge market share, and gave the latter the highest score in attack detection and attack response. “Applications continue to be one of the top targets for malicious attackers, and our goal is to provide comprehensive protection where it’s needed most,” said Ram Krishnan, senior vice president and general manager of F5’s Security Business Unit. “We believe the results of this report reflect the high level of trust that F5 customers and vendors have in our WAF solutions to protect their applications deployed on-premises, in the public cloud, and in hybrid clouds.”
Today, WAFs have evolved into tools that can significantly reduce the risk of application vulnerabilities. Today’s most powerful WAFs are continually updated to offer a wide range of detection and response techniques. The report also praised F5's multiple consumption models, including "Silverline managed services and self-managed products, as well as advanced WAF appliances and traditional application security managers." Commenting on F5's support services, the report noted: "Customers praised the company for the support it provides." |
