On December 6, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued an emergency warning yesterday. The national "number portability" was officially launched a few days ago. This provides convenience for users to freely choose operators with their original mobile phone numbers. However, some criminals have taken advantage of the fact that "number portability" has just been launched and some people are not clear about the rules, and "study" new telecommunications network fraud routines. Friends who want to apply for "number portability", please be vigilant! Scenario 1: Can you “port your number to another network” without meeting the portability conditions? A received a call from someone claiming to be a customer service representative of a certain operator, who said that he no longer needed to meet the portability requirements and could handle the "number portability" service for him. He only needed to pay a small fee to skip the portability qualification review. The "operator" then sent a text message link. A entered his personal identity information, bank card account number and password through the text message, and his money was defrauded. Scenario 2: After completing the "number portability" procedure, you cannot receive the verification code? After B received a strange text message claiming that he had completed "number portability", the operator's text message channel change may result in the failure to receive SMS verification codes for bank cards, WeChat, Alipay, etc., and he needs to log in to the website with the link in time to complete the information. B entered the website and entered personal information such as ID card, bank card number and password, mobile phone number, etc., and his bank card was stolen in a short time. Scenario 3: After completing the “number portability”, you cannot recharge? When C was surfing the Internet, he saw a message that said: "After porting your number, you can only recharge through mobile business halls and ground business halls, and cannot use Alipay and WeChat Pay." He left a message to ask for a solution, and the other party sent a private message saying that the problem could be solved by improving the information. After the victim clicked on the other party's website link and entered his personal ID card and bank card information, his money was defrauded. From the above cases, we can see that the scammers contacted the victims by phone or text message, taking advantage of the fact that the victims were not familiar with the specific rules of "number portability", and used the excuse that the number portability may bring many risks to guide the victims to click on the fake link. Once the victim believes the scammers and clicks on the link to enter the fake website they set up, the scammers will further induce the victims to provide personal information such as ID cards and bank card accounts, and commit fraud by stealing bank cards and other means. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reminds that when you receive such information, please remain vigilant, do not click on unknown links easily, and do not disclose personal identity information, bank card account numbers and passwords at will. If you have any questions about "number portability", please call the operator's official customer service or go to the business hall for consultation in time to avoid being deceived. |
