The latest global ranking of 5G standard essential patents: Huawei first, Samsung second

Recently, IPLytics, an internationally renowned patent data company, released the latest 5G industry patent report. From the report, we can see that Chinese companies and scientific research institutions performed well, with Huawei ranking first with 3,147 patents and ZTE ranking third with 2,561 patents.

Among the top ten companies and institutions, in addition to Huawei and ZTE, Samsung ranked second with 2,795 applications, and the fourth to tenth were LG, Nokia, Ericsson, Qualcomm, Intel, Sharp, and NTT Docomo.

It is worth noting that the 11th and 12th place are Chinese companies OPPO and China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. In addition, there are also companies such as vivo, Lenovo, Hony Innovation, and Unisoc on the list. The Chinese team accounts for more than one-third of the latest 5G standard essential patents disclosed, and its strength is strong.

In addition, four companies and institutions from Taiwan, China (counted separately), including ASUS, HTC, MediaTek, and Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan, made the list.
