Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Vantage adds support for the latest Wi-Fi features

Recently, Wi-Fi Alliance launched new features for Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Vantage™. Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Vantage is a certification program used to identify and select devices that can provide a better Wi-Fi experience in operator networks. Wi-Fi Vantage now supports the latest generation of Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6, to enable Wi-Fi devices to provide higher efficiency and greater capacity. Wi-Fi Vantage now also supports the latest WPA3™ security technology, which can provide stronger protection in open networks using Wi-Fi Enhanced Open™. With the continuous expansion of its technology portfolio, Wi-Fi Vantage can help service providers, IT managers, and network operators provide a consistent, high-quality experience in Wi-Fi networks in densely populated environments such as campuses, stadiums, public places, airports, and enterprises.

Wi-Fi Vantage integrates Wi-Fi Alliance certifications that improve overall network performance, support the latest Wi-Fi security technologies and encryption standards, and alleviate congestion on mobile data networks. Wi-Fi Vantage provides users with a more reliable and consistent connection experience when accessing networks, network devices, accessing services, and traversing Wi-Fi networks.

Wi-Fi Vantage will continue to work with Wi-Fi 5 devices, and Wi-Fi Vantage for Wi-Fi 6 now includes the following advanced features:

Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5;

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED WPA3™;

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Passpoint®;

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Enhanced Open™;

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Agile Multiband™;

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Optimized Connectivity™.

“The key mechanisms in Wi-Fi Vantage make Wi-Fi increasingly suitable for situations that require greater mobility and help deliver a higher quality experience, which today often includes frequent handoffs between Wi-Fi and cellular networks,” said Kevin Robinson, senior vice president of marketing at Wi-Fi Alliance.

Wi-Fi Vantage supports next-generation use cases

Wi-Fi Vantage helps support next-generation use cases in residential and enterprise environments, especially those that require lower latency and higher mobility. Key technologies used in Wi-Fi Vantage, such as Passpoint®, Wi-Fi Agile Multiband™, and Wi-Fi Optimized Connectivity™, simplify the integration of Wi-Fi and cellular networks and help the coexistence of the two technologies. Wi-Fi Vantage provides users with a more seamless mobile experience when accessing a Wi-Fi network, roaming between access points or Wi-Fi networks, or switching between Wi-Fi and cellular networks, to maintain connectivity without loss. Wi-Fi Vantage features can be used to more reasonably allocate network resources and reduce air transmission overhead, enabling video conferencing, AR/VR, gaming and other applications that are more sensitive to latency to provide a better experience. The new features of Wi-Fi Vantage enable Wi-Fi to further support high-density environments, higher speeds, lower latency and enhanced security.
