In this regard, GSA stated that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on plans for global mobile communications spectrum auctions and allocations. As of November 2020, the Czech Republic and Greece completed the C-band spectrum auction, and Greece also completed the millimeter wave spectrum auction.

In early 2020, Taiwan completed the auction of spectrum in the C-band and part of the millimeter wave band, with an average price far higher than the world average.

GSA expects that the global C-band spectrum auction and allocation will continue this year, and the 700M spectrum auction will also proceed rapidly. It is expected that 50 countries and regions will conduct spectrum auction and allocation activities in 2021.
