Since the US government auctioned 5G spectrum for the telecommunications industry in batches, the frequencies auctioned this time are concentrated in the "C band" between 4GHz and 8GHz. The frequencies auctioned this time are very important for telecom operators to build a new generation of 5G networks.

It is reported that Verizon Communications invested US$45.4 billion and won 3,511 frequency licenses, AT&T invested US$23.4 billion and won 1,621 licenses, and T-Mobile invested US$9.3 billion and won 142 frequency licenses.

Recently, Jessica Rosenworcel, acting chairwoman of the Federal Communications Commission, proposed another 5G spectrum auction in October this year, focusing on the 3.45GHz to 3.55GHz range. Rosenworcel's proposal will be voted on at the Federal Communications Commission meeting on March 17.
