According to foreign media, PCMag recently tested Verizon's newly launched 800Mbps CBRS band, selected several base stations in a specific area, and conducted a comparative test on Verizon 4G with CBRS and the existing 5G mobile network. However, the test results were ridiculous: there was no significant difference between the 4G environment and the 5G environment, and the speed of 4G was even faster than that of 5G. It is reported that Verizon spent $1.89 billion to purchase the CBRS license last year and has been using the new spectrum to improve 4G services in certain areas. The spectrum of CBRS shares a three-layer structure with carrier LTE and a continuous spectrum of 150MHz bandwidth from 3550 to 3700MHz. Its main advantage is that the spectrum can be used for multiple purposes without increasing costs; it can be mainly applied to LTE (especially TDD-LTE), but it can also be applied to other technologies, even Wi-Fi technology, as long as they are compatible with FCC regulations in terms of "digitalization". For most Verizon customers, if there is no need to force the DSS 5G mobile network, the current CBRS 4G mobile network is sufficient. PCMag recommends switching your mobile device to pure 4G mode, and then refreshing it every few months to see if Verizon's 5G mobile network has improved significantly. |
