On August 3, at the 2021 Global Digital Economy Conference - Digital Infrastructure and Ecological Development Forum, Liu Yulin, Deputy Director of the Information and Communications Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced that as of the end of June 2021, a total of 961,000 5G infrastructure projects had been built, covering all cities at the prefecture level and above in the country, and the number of 5G mobile terminal connections reached 365 million, accounting for more than 80% of the world. Typical applications such as 5G+ ultra-high-definition video, smart education, smart hospitals, public health, and healthy aging have accelerated development, and there are more than 10,000 5G application innovation cases across the country.
At present, all prefecture-level cities in the country have built optical network cities, fiber-optic users account for more than 94% of fixed broadband users, broadband users with 100 megabits and above account for more than 90%, gigabit broadband is being deployed at an accelerated pace, and actual ports have entered a period of rapid construction. Gigabit optical networks cover more than 160 million households, and fixed Internet broadband users with gigabit and above access account for 30.1% of the net increase in fixed Internet broadband access users this year. High-quality enterprise external networks cover more than 300 prefecture-level administrative regions, there are more than 150 secondary nodes for industrial Internet identity resolution, the number of platforms with certain industry and regional influence exceeds 100, the number of connected devices exceeds 73 million sets, and there are about 1,600 5G+Industrial Internet projects under construction nationwide, making it one of the most active areas of innovation in the Industrial Internet. As of the end of 2020, the scale of my country's data center infrastructure has exceeded 4 million standard infrastructure, with an average site rate of about 50%, an average PUE of 1.55 for large data centers, and the continued development of civil network integration. The proportion of large and ultra-large data centers directly connected to the backbone network is nearly 70%. Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing and many other places have explored the construction of intelligent computing centers to meet the computing power requirements of artificial intelligence computing. The Internet of Things is rapidly gaining popularity. The world's largest mobile Internet has been built, and the three telecom operators have deployed more than 700,000 NBLT base stations, basically achieving continuous coverage above the county level. IoT sensing terminals are widely deployed in manufacturing, transportation, public utilities and other fields, and the number of mobile IoT connections has reached 129,411 households. In addition, my country's 4G, 5G and fixed broadband networks have fully completed IPv6 upgrades and transformations, and the number of applied IPv6 address resources ranks first in the world. The number of users who have obtained IPv6 addresses has increased from 74 million at the end of 2017 to 1.59 billion. |
