InMotion Hosting Acquires RamNode

LEB released this news on March 4: InMotion Hosting Acquires RamNode. Speaking of RamNode, readers who have played VPS earlier may have an impression of it. The tribe has often shared news about it since 2012, but the most recent time was in 2019. The main reason was that the price advantage was not obvious after merchants migrated to the OpenStack cloud platform. However, it is still a bit surprising to hear about its acquisition now. After all, its operations in the past few years were still very good.

California-based hosting company InMotion Hosting announced today that they had acquired well-known LEB provider RamNode.

An official press release will come out next week, but in a post on LowEndTalk, Sunil from InMotion said:

  • RamNode was acquired in early February in an assets-only sale.
  • InMotion intends to continue running RamNode as-is with no major changes as far as “branding, consolidation or changes to the core product line”.
  • All RamNode staff have moved to InMotion, include Nick (@Nick_A), RamNode's founder.
According to the above information, there should be no changes in RamNode's brand, products and accounts after the acquisition. I still use the two old SolusVM platform VPSs I have. I don't know how many readers are still using RamNode's hosts, but if you are still using them, don't worry. I don't know much about the acquirer InMotion Hosting, but it is an American hosting company founded in 2001.
