Xunlei's total revenue in 2016 was US$157 million, and its cloud computing revenue increased by 230.4% year-on-year

On March 8, Beijing time, Xunlei released its unaudited financial report for the fourth quarter and the full year ending December 31, 2016. The financial report shows that Xunlei's total revenue for the whole year of 2016 was US$157 million, a year-on-year increase of 20.7%. The revenue growth was due to the growth of membership income, mobile advertising and cloud computing business. Among them, Xunlei's strategic business cloud computing had a year-on-year revenue increase of 230.4% in 2016.

Specific figures in the financial report show that Thunder's total revenue in 2016 was US$157 million, a year-on-year increase of 20.7%; membership revenue was US$90.2 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%; Internet advertising revenue was US$16.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 252.2%; other Internet value-added service revenue including cloud computing business was US$49.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.7%.

Xunlei's membership revenue in 2016 was US$90.2 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%. The growth in membership revenue came from the increase in average income per member. As of December 31, 2016, Xunlei's average income per member was RMB 30.1, compared with RMB 25.3 in the same period of 2015, a year-on-year increase of 19%. The reorganization of the membership system, the launch of super members with more privileges, and the continuous operation of the Xunlei team have increased Xunlei's average income per user in 2016, which has helped Xunlei's membership revenue maintain a steady growth. The steady growth of the main business is an important guarantee for Xunlei's continued healthy development.

Internet advertising revenue, including mobile advertising revenue, was $16.9 million in 2016, up 252.2% year-on-year; the revenue growth was due to the growth of mobile advertising. Through continuous product improvement, Xunlei Mobile now covers short videos, live broadcasts, downloads and other functions, attracting a large number of users and becoming a favorite mobile entertainment consumption APP for users, with the number of users and traffic constantly reaching new highs.

In 2016, revenue from other Internet value-added services (IVAS), including cloud computing business, was US$49.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.7%. Since the cloud computing business achieved revenue in the third quarter of 2015, it has been in a state of rapid development, and both the bandwidth sales business and the number of CDN customers have maintained a rapid growth momentum. As a leader in innovative professional CDN, Star Domain CDN promoted the advancement of CDN technology in the field of cloud computing CDN applications in 2016. While revolutionizing the CDN industry, it also had a huge impact on the CDN application industry, especially the live broadcast industry, which is in a period of rapid development. So far, Star Domain CDN has provided services to hundreds of live broadcast companies such as Xiaomi, iQiyi, Panda Live, bilibili, Momo, Chushou, Zhanqi Live, Dapeng VR, GoGal, etc., and has become a trusted technology service provider for corporate live broadcasts.

Xunlei estimates that total revenue for the first quarter of 2017 will be between US$39 million and US$41 million, which represents a mid-term year-over-year growth of 4%. This outlook reflects Xunlei's preliminary views and is subject to change in the future.
